NBR is commonly used for hydraulic and pneumatic applications where good resistance to oil, grease and general hydraulic fluids is required. FKM/Viton can be considered for applications involving higher temperatures, fuels or demanding chemical conditions.

These are produced through rubber moulding, with tooling designed around the required profile and specifications. The moulded geometry can include the required sealing lips, grooves and other application-specific features.

For non-standard cylinders, custom tooling can be developed to match the required sealing and bore arrangement, supporting custom piston seal sizes requirements. Production specifications are controlled according to the material, hardness, specifications and required tolerances.

For proper selection, the cylinder bore diameter, piston groove diameter, groove width and cross-section should be specified. The type of cylinder and expected piston movement are also important.

Application details such as working pressure, piston speed, temperature, hydraulic or pneumatic medium, and frequency of operation help determine the suitable profile and material.
