Frequently Asked Questions
Custom PU moulded parts are application-specific polyurethane parts produced to a shape that standard products do not cover. Custom PU parts for industrial equipment are used where the assembly needs a defined shape, hardness and feature set that no catalogue part matches. PU moulded components for conveyor equipment are produced for contact, guide and support positions across material handling and conveyor systems, along with jigs, fixtures and special-purpose machinery.
Yes. Component manufacturing starts with a review of your engineering drawing, physical sample or written specification. Tooling is then developed to that shape before moulding begins. Sample based PU component development follows the same route where no drawing exists and the component has to be reproduced from an existing part.
Yes. Polyurethane moulding with metal inserts bonds plates, sleeves or fasteners directly into the component during the moulding stage. This removes the need for a separate bonding operation later and gives a stronger interface than post-assembly fixing. Inserts are positioned as per the drawing and held in place through the moulding cycle.
Yes. Prototype PU components are supplied for design validation before committing to full production tooling and volumes. Trial quantities allow the component to be fitted and tested in the actual assembly. Once the specification is approved, it is retained on record for repeat manufacturing against the same drawing.
Holes, recesses, grooves, slots and profiled sections can all be built into the required shape. PU components with custom profiles are produced where the drawing calls for shaped contact faces, stepped sections or retention features. Where a feature needs tighter dimensional control than moulding alone allows, secondary machining is carried out after moulding.
