Frequently asked questions

Pad thickness, hardness and contact area are selected together based on the compression, impact and load conditions at the fitment point. Available in shore A 60 to 95. Lower hardness is selected where greater compliance and cushioning are needed, higher hardness where resistance to deformation under sustained load matters more. Custom thickness PU pads are manufactured to drawing where standard thicknesses do not suit the application.

Yes, PU pads with holes and slots can be manufactured for bolted fitting, positioning and clearance. Grooves, recesses and profiles can also be added based on the required specification. Machined PU pad is used when the application requires precise thickness tolerances or additional features that cannot be achieved during moulding.

Moulded PU Pads are manufactured through our Polyurethane moulding process using a dedicated mould as per the required shape and specifications, while Machined parts are produced by machining an existing sheet, block, rod, or part to achieve specific dimensions, generally suitable for prototypes, small quantities, or customized requirements.

Polyurethane offers higher load-bearing capacity, better abrasion resistance and lower compression set than rubber at the same hardness. This makes PU wear pads the preferred choice at contact points seeing continuous or repeated load, particularly on conveyor and material handling equipment. Rubber pads are selected where higher elasticity matters more than wear life. Both are manufactured in-house at Easkay India, so material selection can be based purely on the application.
